A holiday dinner gone south
Fusing the horror genre with holiday-themed elements, Frosty the Snowhitman is a free-to-play game set in a gloomy fictional village called Frostvale. According to folklore, it is said that a bloodthirsty snowman called Frosty is lurking within the snow-covered village. For the protagonist, this spells trouble.
Investigate the village
The protagonist of Frosty the Snowhitman invited their family for a hearty holiday dinner at his house. Hours passed and they hadn’t arrived yet. Sensing something was amiss, he left the warm comforts of his abode and found frozen corpses on the ground.
Later on, the protagonist will be chased by several snowmen. The anticlimactic ending, though, may leave players unsatisfied. There are no alternate endings, either. While the whole game is short, it excellently captures the experience of being unable to find your way back home in the snow at night.
A short horror experience
If you love holiday-themed games with a sprinkle of horror, Frosty the Snowhitman is right up your alley. The gameplay is simple: find corpses in Frostvale village and make it back home, if you can. Of course, it would be great if the title featured an alternate ending.
